Penlee House is a museum and art gallery located in the town of Penzance in Cornwall, and is home to a great many paintings.
Created as the artistic heart of West Cornwall’s history, the gallery is the perfect place to discover the works of the Newlyn School and Lamorna artists – including many by Stanhope Forbes, Norman Garstin, Walter Langley and Lamorna Birch.
The museum covers the history of West Cornwall, from amazing archaeological finds to fabulous ceramics, social history and fashion. After that, relax with a coffee, homemade cake or a delicious light lunch in our licensed cafe, The Orangery.
Penlee House has a programme of around four exhibitions every year, each of which features an aspect of the historic art and culture of the area. In addition, there is usually at least one room dedicated to Newlyn School and Lamorna Group paintings, plus galleries dedicated to archaeology and social history.
