Porthmeor Beach is a beautiful sandy beach that is a few minutes walk from Ayr Holiday Park.
The beach consists of a long stretch of golden sand overlooked by numerous artists’ studios and the Tate Gallery. Porthmeor is also St Ives’ most dramatic beach facing the full force of the Atlantic Ocean and flanked by rugged headlands. As a consistent winner of the Blue Flag award Porthmeor is a great family beach and has all the facilities you would expect.
It is well recognised as one of West Cornwall’s best surfing beaches – so don’t forget to pack your wetsuit and board – the local St Ives surf school provides a great option for anyone wanting to get into the sport.
