The St Ives Cinema is a traditional small-town movie theatre that has three screens but does show the latest release of films without breaking the bank. Also known as the Royal Cinema it is run by the Merlin Group and also show recorded events from international theatre, dance and opera companies.
The Royal Cinema is situated at the bottom of The Stennack in Royal Square, opposite the Co-op. The Malakoff bus station and St Ives railway station are a few minutes walk from the cinema if you go down Tregenna Hill and turn left just before the Library building. Most buses stop in Royal Square or at the bus station. There is a large car park two minutes walk from the cinema, up the Stennack, the car park entrance is next to a launderette and the St Ives Health Centre.
