For any art lover, no trip to St Ives would be complete without visiting Cornwall’s very own Tate Gallery.
The St Ives Tate opened its doors back in 1993 and soon established itself as talk of the town. The 3-storey building with its iconic circular entrance holds a dominant position overlooking Porthmeor Beach.
The Tate gallery features many contemporary art pieces, however it pays homage to the town’s St Ives School artists with with pieces from artists who have called this town home, like those of Alfred Wallis.
If you happen to visit St Ives on a rainy day, the Tate St Ives is a great place to while away a few hours and doge the showers.
Standard entry costs £13.50 per adult. There is a lovely cafe on the top floor, and a tempting gift shop.
